Breeze Over The Lakes

These porcelain piece I created for Breeze Over the Lake, on view during NCECA in Detroit at the Detroit Public Library as part of the Clay Around Town exhibition.
Inspired by the connection between Michigan and its sister state, Shiga, Japan, this work brings together delicate blossoms, architectural forms, vessel traditions, a crossing bridge, flowing water with koi, and a lighthouse by the lake, each element reflecting a shared cultural landscape.
Rooted in the spirit of traditional Japanese ceramics, this piece carries a quiet dialogue between place, memory, and material bridging two worlds through clay.
